Sweet as Macey

Here at Local 6, we love to show off kids in the community doing something great. Here is our story about Macey Evitts.

When Macey gets in the kitchen, she starts baking with her signature egg crack.

"The secret to it: You have to put your hand around the entire egg, and put your thumb into it to crack it," said Macey.

Macey is 11. She’s sweet, loving and has a personality that lights up the kitchen. She is so sweet, her bakery goes by the name Sweet as Macey.

Macey’s kindness goes beyond the kitchen. She bakes to help others.

"Recently, my school had a festival. My teachers recommended I bake cupcakes. They were auctioned off for $97. I’m glad it’s going to our playground," said Macey.

Her dreams don’t stop there, though.

"I just want to keep helping others, and I plan to do that by creating a Sweet as Macey foundation. Fifty percent of my profit will go to there. That will help the homeless and people who need help," said Macey.

Her treats are not only made with love, but sealed with it too.

If you know of a local kid doing something great, let us know. You can email Mychaela Bruner at mbruner@wpsdlocal6.com.

If you would like to place a order with Macey, you can call her mom, Mandy, at 270-519-1136.
