Two Marshall County roads reopen, one still closed

Two roads in Marshall County are back open Tuesday after flooding from storms damaged them last week.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says Kentucky 1949/Wadesboro Road South has reopened at mile point 2.1. KYTC says crews have repaired an erosion issue at a bridge that crosses a tributary of Soldier Creek.

KY 3456/Needmore Road is also open now between the 1 and 2 mile marker.  KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says repairs have been made to a washed out culvert.

However, Todd says KY 795/Scale Road remains closed at mile point 9.7. That particular section of roadway has been closed since March 24 because of erosion damage to the Cypress Creek Bridge.

Todd says work to replace the bridge with a culvert is expected to resume in the next few weeks. He says it will start once more recent erosion damage from flash flooding is repaired. That closure is between Chapel Lane and Samples Lane.
