Body found in Paducah

An autopsy will be performed Friday on a body found on Paducah’s south side Thursday morning.

Paducah police say the body was found around 10:20 a.m. in a wooded area near the U.S. Post office on Irvin Cobb Drive.

Police are running a test to confirm the gender of the body, which is believed to be male.

The Livingston County Coroner is assisting with the investigation.

A person near the scene told Local 6 they noticed a bad smell in the area where the body was found, and told another person about it. They said the second individual went to find out what the cause of the smell was and discovered the body.
