Dog attacks man having a seizure

The Weakley County Sheriff’s Department says a man having a seizure was attacked by a dog.

Wednesday afternoon deputies were called to an emergency at a home on Highway 431 west of Martin, Tennessee.

At the home, they found 58-year-old James Kirk with a severe injury to his throat.

According to Kirk’s wife, he was lying in bed with the family’s pet dog when Kirk had a seizure.

Deputies say the dog, a pit bull, attacked Kirk while he was having the seizure.

Kirk was taken to a local hospital and then flown to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

His condition is unknown at this time.
