Some facilities back open at Land Between the Lakes after storms

Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area says some facilities are back open after last week’s storms. 

Some roads and trails may still be blocked by fallen trees, but LBL announced the following events that are back on schedule at the recreation area:

In a news release sent Thursday, LBL says Wranglers Campground will host the 20th annual Primitive Rodeo from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Information can be found on the event’s online calendar entry

LBL says Woodlands Nature Station will host Cool Critters Day on Saturday. You can look over a full schedule in an LBL program for the event

Golden Pond Planetarium will present a laser light music show called Firefall on Saturday at 8 p.m., LBL says, followed by a free Star Party at 8:45 p.m. The will be a show with Pink Floyd’s "The Wall" on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and "Dark Side of the Moon" at 7 p.m. You can look at a full planetarium schedule at the LBL website

LBL says Energy Lake Campground will reopen to campers at 8 a.m. on Friday. 

Closed sites include the Fenton Campground and Woodlands Trail. LBL also said Cravens Bay Campground, the Elk and Bison Prairie, the Turkey Bay off-highway vehicle area, and the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and Living History Museum may all be closed for a longer period because of the severity of damage in those locations.
