Ice skating rink coming to downtown Paducah later this year

An ice skating rink is coming to downtown Paducah for the first time in almost six years.

The 60 foot be 120 foot rink will be located in the Meredith Schroeder Expo Center from mid-November to mid-January. It will be able to hold 350 skaters at a time.

The Convention Center Corporation Board will allocate funds for the $190,000 rink.

CCC Director of Operations Chuck Tate is looking for sponsors. They are hoping to get a minimum of $30,000 through sponsorships.

He says the rest of the costs will be made up through ticket and concession sales, and skate rentals.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the rink should call or e-mail the email marketing and sales director Michelle Campbell at mcampbell@paducahconventions.com or (270) 519-9458.
