Closure planned on Lyon County road to fix flood damage

A closure is scheduled for a section of Kentucky 778 in southern Lyon County on Thursday to fix flood damage, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says KY 778 will be closed at the 2 mile marker, which is south of the Lamasco area, so a large culvert damaged by flash flooding can be replaced. He says the closure will start around 6 a.m. on Thursday. It is about halfway between Kentucky 93 and the Lyon County, Trigg County line.

The road is expected to be closed for 10 to 12 hours, Todd says, to dig out the old culvert and install a new one.

There will be no marked detour.
