Tenn. RNC delegate chair would love to see state vote Trump

Tennessee state Sen. Mae Beavers says she would love to see the state’s whole delegation to the Republican National Convention vote for Donald Trump. That is if the delegates for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio are released from their obligation to vote for those candidates.

Beavers, of Mt. Juliet, is the chairwoman of the delegation and a Trump delegate. She says it would be in the interest of party unity to support the presumptive presidential nominee.

Charlie Cato is a Nashville attorney and Cruz delegate. He says some people are trying to stir up enthusiasm to nominate Cruz but he doesn’t see a repeat of Monday, when some anti-Trump delegates disrupted the convention.

He joked, "I had about all the democracy I could stand yesterday."
