A Motel 6 in San Bernardino, California is gone after a brush fire jumped a freeway overnight. We’re told everyone inside was evacuated in time. Firefighters are still trying to put the blaze out.

The North Miami police officer who shot a therapist trying to protect an autistic patient says he feared for his life. In a statement, the officer says he meant to shoot the patient instead to protect the therapist, but he missed.

France will send additional military help to Iraq and Syria to fight the Islamic Group. French President Francois Hollande said the military will not send troops to the ground, but will send artillery support.

Campaign insiders say Hillary Clinton could announce her pick for vice president today. Rumors hint that it is down to two people, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
