Dental records of man found dead in fire inconclusive

State police say a dental records search to identify a man whose body was found in a Calloway County house fire last week was inconclusive.

Kentucky State Police say they are now researching family and places he may have previously lived. That is expected to take a while, troopers say.

The fire happened on July 19 on Calloway County’s on Cedar Haven Road.

The body of a woman, Linda Whittenberg, was also found in that house fire. Investigators say she was killed by two gunshot wounds.

Neighbors told Local 6’s Amanda Roberts the week of the fire that they believed they knew who the man is, but Kentucky State Police said they didn’t want to speculate.
