Zeigler House Fire

Firefighters in Southern Illinois are working to learn what caused a house fire.

Firefighters in Zeigler say they were called to 310 Walnut Street Sunday night.

That was when the home owner returned from a shopping trip, to extreme heat and smoke.

The smoke was so thick that crews had to use a thermal imaging camera to find and extinguish the fire.

No one was hurt, and firefighters did save the family’s cat.
