Priest among those killed in Normandy hostage attack
An elderly priest taken hostage early Tuesday morning at a church in Normandy, was killed by the two attackers. Police say the attackers were armed with knives when they took hostages during morning Mass in France.
That priest is Archbishop of Rouen Dominique Lebrun as Father Jacques Hamel. The priest was 84.
One other person was seriously injured. We know police shot and killed both attackers after Hamel’s death.
French President Francois Hollande and Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve traveled to Normandy Monday morning. French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said he is horrified by the "barbaric" attack.
We don’t know the motive behind the attack.
