Water rate increase approved for Caldwell County Water District

Caldwell County Water District customers will soon have to pay more for their water.

Board Chair Pat Fralick says the Public Service Commission approved an 18.88% water rate increase.

Fralick says, "The board is looking forward to being able to make some improvements to our infrastructure and equipment that will better enable us to continue providing potable water to our customers as efficiently as possible.”

A case study done earlier this year recommended that the water rate be increased by almost 34%.

The increase will go into effect September.
