Paducah man arrested on burglary charge

McCracken County sheriff’s deputies say a Paducah man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a home burglary reported early that morning.

Around 3:56 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the report of a burglary of a home in the 4600 block of Schneidman Road. Deputies say the person who lives there reported waking up to the sound of someone’s voice in the home. The resident told deputies they then saw someone leave through the bedroom window. Deputies say the burglar had rummaged through several dresser drawers in the home.

Investigators say 19-year-old Jay Toney of Paducah was considered a person of interest in the burglary. They say the resident told them Toney once lived there, but he had moved out more than a year ago and didn’t have a right to be there.

Toney was later found and taken to the sheriff’s department. After he was interviewed, deputies say, he was arrested and charged with second degree burglary.
