Carbondale man sentenced to prison for biting baby
A Carbondale man was sentenced to prison for aggravated battery of a child.
In December, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation into possible child abuse of an 8-month-old.
The mother showed detectives photos she had taken of a human bite mark on her child’s arm. She said she had taken the photos about four months earlier.
The mother said the baby was being taken care of by the father, 22-year-old Jacob Langley, when the bite occurred.
Langley at first denied any knowledge of the bite mark, but later admitted to biting the child and leaving the mark.
Langley entered an "open plea" to aggravated battery of a child. He was sentenced to three years in prison and one year of mandatory supervised release upon release from prison.
