Six things to know – 8/2/16

Here are six things to know for today.

One person is dead and another is being treated in a New York hospital after someone fired shots into a parked car overnight. Witnesses say it happened around 2:00 a.m. our time. No arrests have been made.

A new travel warning from the CDC. They are asking all pregnant women and their partners to avoid the Wynwood area near Miami, Florida. This after several cases of locally transmitted Zika were announced.

The International Olympic Committee’s president says Rio’s waters meet World Health Organization standards. That’s despite reports Friday claiming Olympic staff were telling athletes to keep their mouths closed in the water.

You may want to try a different route if you take Starr Hill Road in McCracken County. Monday’s rain caused parts of the road to collapse. Crews will be working on a temporary fix later today.

Many of you will see a familiar sight today on the Travel Channel. Bert the Conqueror will try to take on Holiday World. You can watch it at 1:00 p.m.
