Body found in burned Illinois home identified

The Union county coroner has identified a woman found in a burned home in Lick Creek, Illinois.

Firefighters responded to a house engulfed in flames around 2:44 a.m. Tuesday.

After the fire was put out, the body of Lou Etta Rion of Lick Creek was found inside the home.

The coroner’s office says she died of smoke inhalation.

There is no word on what caused the fire.

An investigation is ongoing.
