Police: Brother stabbed sisters to death inside Hopkinsville home

SUNDAY UPDATE:  Hopkinsville police identify the two women who were killed and the man who is charged in their deaths.

They found Francis Carolyn Coleman Rogers, 69, of Houston, Texas, with a stab wound to her neck.  She was taken to a Nashville hospital where she later died.

Police also found Joanne Rogers, 62, dead inside the home also from a stab wound.  Police questioned Robert Rogers, 65, of Hopkinsville.  They say he had blood on him and he was arrested for two counts of murder.  He’s in the Christian County Jail on no bond.  Police say Robert Rogers was the brother of the two victims. 

ORIGINAL STORY:  Hopkinsville, Kentucky police are investigating the fatal stabbings of two women earlier this morning at a home in the 1700 block of East 7th Street.

Lt. Seth Meek says police questioned and later arrested a man and are waiting for formal charges to be filed before they release his name.  Meek says the two adult women and the man who was arrested are family members.

Police were called to the home between 6:30 and 6:45 Sunday morning.  The names of the victims have not been released.
