Scammers calling Illinois residents asking for donations

The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association is asking Illinois residents to be on alert for a phone scam.

The ISA says scammers are using their name to solicit donations.

The ISA says they never solicit for donations by phone.

If you get a call from someone asking for donations for the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association, you are asked to hang up and contact your local sheriff’s office.
