California man arrested, charged with 17 counts of arson

Damin Anthony Pashilk is 40-years-old and accused of setting the Clayton Fire in California. That fire has destroyed more than 175 homes and other structures and charred 4,000 acres since it started burning Saturday. The fire is only 5% contained right now. More than 1,000 personnel are working together to extinguish the fire.

The Lake County, California fire chief said Pashilk is wanted in connection to several fires over the past year. The Clayton Fire is the most recent.

Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in the San Francisco area. Brown said firefighters are working to hold the fire back away from homes and other buildings. Right now, there are no other immediate threats to structures.
