Carbondale hosting meeting for eclipse stakeholders

Carbondale, Illinois, Mayor Mike Henry has announced a stakeholders event on Wednesday to coordinate preparations for the 2017 solar eclipse. 

The event, which is a breakfast, will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at the Garden Grove Event Center at 1215 East Walnut Street in Carbondale. 

In an announcement for the breakfast, the city of Carbondale says the event will include stakeholders from around southern Illinois who will be involved in transporting, protecting and accommodating the visitors expected in Carbondale in August of next year to view the eclipse.
