Illinois comptroller introduces ‘No Budget, No Pay’ bill
Pass a budget, or don’t get paid. That’s the message from Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger to state lawmakers.
She proposed a "No Budget, No Pay" bill Wednesday. It would require lawmakers to pass a balanced budget to get their salaries. Munger said: "I don’t know of an employer that would pay someone that is not doing their job. Why should taxpayers settle for less?"
Munger is up for reelection in November against Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza.
