Deputies investigating pickup stolen and then set on fire

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pickup that was stolen and then set of fire.

Deputies say they got a call around 10:32 p.m.on Sunday for a pickup fire on Collins Road in the Kirksey area.

The passenger compartment was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The owner of the pickup, 32-year-old William Nelson of Murray, said the pickup was at his home on 277 Cambridge Drive in Murray when he left around 9:30 p.m.

Nelson said there was a number of items in the pickup that he used for his business.

An investigation is ongoing.
