Eggners Ferry Bridge demolition to halt traffic
Be prepared for short traffic stops as part of the demolition of the old Eggners Ferry Bridge.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says on Tuesday crews will work on blasting out the underwater portion of two piers. Crews worked Monday to get the piers ready for demolition.
To do that, they will have to halt traffic on the new US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge for about 10 to 15 minutes. The blast is scheduled to go off around noon Tuesday.
Boat traffic will also be halted during the blast.
The US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge connects Marshall and Trigg counties across Kentucky Lake at US 68 and KY 80.
