Firearms stolen during armed home invasion in Weakley County

Weakley County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed home invasion in which firearms were stolen.

Deputies were called to a home in the 1200 block of Boydsville Road just north of Dresden, Tennessee around 2:51 p.m. on Friday.

52-year-old Rudy Lee Powers told deputies he was asleep inside the home when he was awaken by a man dressed in all white clothing pointing a small automatic pistol at his head.

Powers said he was forced to lay on the floor of the bedroom while the man and a second intruder took a 38 caliber Taurus pistol and a 20 gauge single shot shotgun.

The two men left in a white four door car believed to be a Toyota Avalon which was possibly driven by a third man.

Powers believed he heard a conversation about Memphis between the two men in the house.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office at (731) 364-5454.
