Possible traffic stop on Eggners Ferry Bridge for pier demolition

A traffic halt on the US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge is currently set for Noon.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says they are stopping traffic so that they can blast one of the piers from the old Eggners Ferry Bridge.

The blast was originally set for Monday morning, but it was rescheduled.

During the blast, both vehicle and boat traffic will be stopped for about 10 to 15 minutes.

A second traffic stop will happen in the future to blast out a second pier. There is so far no tentative date for that explosion.

The US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge connects Marshall and Trigg counties across Kentucky Lake at US 68 and KY 80.
