Police investigating body found in Carbondale

Carbondale police are investigating a body found Tuesday morning.

The Carbondale Police Department says officers and the City of Carbondale Fire Department were called to an active fire in the 900 block of East Main Street around 8:02 a.m.

After extinguishing the flames, a body was discovered.

Officers say the identity of the deceased is undetermined at this time.

An investigation is underway.
