Garbage collection service ending recycling pickup

A garbage collection service is ending its recycling service.

Republic Services says starting August 31 they will stop providing recycling service to its customers.

The company says it is ending the service due to the higher costs associated with processing fees and transportation.

Customers are asked to put their recycle carts out so that they can be picked up by employees.

Republic Services says recyclables can be taken to the City of Paducah Recycle Drop Point which is across from the Public Works Building at 920 Burnett Street.

Anyone with questions is asked to call 1-800-585-6033.
