Sheriff’s office asking public’s help finding woman wanted on kidnapping charge

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office wants your help finding a woman and her 6-month-old child. Deputies say she doesn’t have custody of the baby, and is wanted on charges including kidnapping.

The sheriff’s office says 30-year-old Elizabeth S. Beck Story of Mayfield is charged with kidnapping. The Cabinet of Health and Family Services has been awarded custody of the baby, and Sheriff Dewaye Redmon and cabinet officials say the child may be in danger with Story.

Investigators spoke with Story on Wednesday, and the sheriff’s office says she is refusing to release the baby. She is believed to be in the Mayfield-Graves County area.

If you know where Story is, you can call the sheriff’s office at 270-247-4501.  The sheriff’s office notes that anyone helping her hide could be charged with hindering apprehension and face up to a year in jail.
