Southern Illinois schools dismissed early due to gas leak

Two schools in southern Illinois have been dismissed early due to a gas leak.

The Williamson County Emergency Management Agency says Project Echo School and Starquest Academy were dismissed at 9:30 a.m.

The gas leak also closed Illinois Route 37 North from the Franklin County Line to Stiritz Road. That road has since been reopened.
