U.S. Sen. Rand Paul speaks at Paducah Power in Partnership Breakfast
U.S. Senator Rand Paul spoke about the need for small government and his run for President at Thursday morning’s Power in Partnership Breakfast in Paducah.
After his speech, we asked him about Congressman Ed Whitfield’s decision to resign before the end of his term.
Paul said it is not uncommon for a representative to resign before the end of a tenure, but he hasn’t talked with Whitfield since his announcement.
Paul also mentioned his thoughts about possibly running for president again.
"You know right now I am just concentrating on running for reelection of the Senate. It’s hard for me to think about doing that again really. It was a lot of work, but nobody can say what happens 4 or 8 years from now, but it’s not something I am plotting right now. It is to me about representing Kentucky, the U.S. Senate and seeing that through," said U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R).
