Bus carrying marines to Nashville burns on I-24

A bus carrying about 40 marines who were on their way to Nashville for Marine Week caught fire on Interstate 24 Monday afternoon, near Monteagle, Tennessee.

A news release from Marine Week Nashville says all the marines got off the bus safely, and no one was injured in the fire.

WRCB-TV in Chattanooga reports that the fire slowed Labor Day traffic on I-24, but the roadway has since reopened.

The Marine Week Nashville news release says the cause of the fire is not yet known.
