Man arrested on assault, animal cruelty charges

A man is in jail after Graves County sheriff’s deputies say he assaulted a woman and killed two kittens.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says a woman reported that she was assaulted on Sunday by Justin Jones of Fancy Farm, who she said also killed her two pet kittens. Redmon says the woman, whose face was bruised, told deputies that Jones was on top of her when he squeezed one of the kittens to death on her chest.

Jones was arrested and charged with fourth degree assault (domestic violence) and two counts of second degree cruelty to animals, and he was jailed in the Graves County Jail.
