West Franklin, IL man injured in motorcycle crash

A West Frankfort, Illinois man was injured in a motorcycle crash Monday morning around 9:12 a.m.

Illinois State Police say 69-year-old James Odum was riding a motorcycle west on Illinois Route 149 and following a vehicle.

The vehicle starting turning into a driveway at 3878 Illinois Route 149.

Troopers say Odum didn’t see the vehicle turning in time and lost control of his motorcycle.

The motorcycle did not hit the vehicle, but Odum was ejected. He was wearing a helmet.

Odum was taken to a local hospital with incapacitating injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.

Troopers says Odum was cited with improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
