Local rotary club collecting school supplies for Louisiana flood victims

Murray Rotary Club is accepting school supply donations on Thursday for school children affected by flooding in Louisiana.

In Livingston Parish, Louisiana, 14 schools are gone because of the flooding. Their students are now learning in temporary facilities. Many of those kids’ families lost their homes as well, and they need your help to start off the school year.

The rotary club is taking up pencils, paper, blue pens and glue sticks from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Bel Air Shopping Center.

If you want to make a monetary donation, rather than a supply donation, you can mail a check made out to “Rotary of Baton Rouge Foundation,” with “Flood Relief,” in the memo line to 9625 Fenway Ave., Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
