Two men charged with arson in Murray fire

Two Murray men have been arrested and charged with arson.

The Murray Police Department says firefighters responded to a fire at a home in Rivera Courts on September 5.

An arson investigation began after evidence and information at the scene pointed to the possibility that the fire was started intentionally.

None of the residents were at the home at the time of the fire.

The investigation led to the arrest of two Murray men.

37-year-old Chad Sharp was arrested and charged with second degree arson, kidnapping, and fourth degree assault.

37-year-old James Gibson was arrested on charges of second degree arson and second degree burglary.

We have asked police about what the kidnapping and assault charges stem from. We’ve been told police aren’t releasing that information, because they think it will harm the investigation.
