Paducah woman arrested after stabbing her uncle

A Paducah woman was arrested after she stabbed her uncle.

Paducah police were called to the 1100 block of North 13th Street around 7:00 p.m. Thursday on reports of a disturbance.

About the same time, a man called 911 from his home on South 5th Street and said he had been stabbed.

23-year-old Farren Sims told police that her uncle, 44-year-old William Patrick Sims, came to her North 13th Street home and assaulted her. She said she stabbed him in self-defense.

William told police that Farren had asked him to come over to her house and he was ambushed when he arrived.

William was taken to a local hospital for a cut on his arm and a wound to his back.

Farren was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault. She was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
