Highway 286 in Ballard County back open after closing due to semi crash

A portion of Highway 286 in Ballard County closed Friday because of a semi crash is now back open to traffic. 

The Ballard County Sheriff’s Office said the semi crashed near the intersection of Hamburg Road. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd tells us that section of the highway is back open. 

The semi was full of plastic pellets, and it had to be unloaded by hand before it could be removed it from the scene. 

The crash blocked both lanes, and the highway department had to detour traffic until the way was cleared.

No one was injured in the crash.
