Murray man arrested after car crash, car caught on fire

A Murray man was arrested for driving under the influence after he crashed his car and the car caught on fire.

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office says on Sunday they were called to a crash at the intersection of Brinn Road and Coles Campground Road around 1:06 a.m.

Deputies found a car partially off the road on fire and the driver was not inside.

The fire was extinguished and the driver, 37-year-old Daniel Baldwin of Murray, was found close by.

Deputies say Baldwin lost control of his car and hit a road sign, a fire hydrant, and a parked car before his car caught on fire.

Baldwin was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, criminal mischief 3rd degree, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to notify address change to DOT.
