A Cape Girardeau man has been arrested in connection with a pedestrian who died after a hit-and-run wreck earlier this week, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri.

On Monday evening, deputies say, 49-year-old Jackie Crumley of Benton, Missouri, died after he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene. The sheriff’s office received a phone tip Tuesday evening that led them to the home of 33-year-old Allen Jones.

Jones has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. He was jailed in Scott County Jail, and bond has been set at $10,000, cash only. The sheriff’s office says additional charges are expected.
