Union rejects Pilgrim’s Pride contract in Graves County

It’s back to the table for management at Pilgrim’s Pride in Grave County and a local union.

Members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 227 on Friday rejected the recently proposed contract.

The union’s statement reads:

Our members have overwhelmingly rejected the current proposal from the company. Our goal, as always, is to reach an agreement without a work stoppage. Our members work hard every day and it is our hope the company will return to the negotiating table to reach a fair agreement for our local families."

We reached out to the company, and  we are waiting on a call back.
