Man shot and killed during officer-involved shooting in Owensboro identified

SATURDAY UPDATE:  KSP says the man who was shot and killed is Lucas Anderson, 29, of Owensboro. According to the coroner, Anderson died from multiple gunshot wounds.

ORIGINAL STORY:  An Owensboro man was shot and killed by police after they say he rushed them with a knife.

KSP says officers were called to a domestic dispute Friday night.  They found a man and a woman arguing and say the man grabbed the woman by her hair and put a knife to her throat.

Officers attempted to get him to release the woman.  He did, but KSP troopers say the man, who has not been identified, charged the officers.  The two Owensboro officers shot the man.

He died at the scene.  The woman was taken to the hospital with injuries.  She is in stable condition. The two officers were not hurt.  They are on paid leave, pending the investigation.
