I-24 lane restriction planned in Lyon County for crash reconstructions

Traffic will be down to one lane on part of Interstate 24 in Lyon County on Tuesday, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The restriction is to allow state police to perform crash reconstructions.

KYTC says westbound traffic will be restricted to one lane near the 33 mile marker of I-24 to allow Kentucky State Police investigators to reconstruct two wrecks that happened in the same stretch of road in recent weeks.

The restriction is near the Lyon County Weigh Station, and westbound drivers should be prepared for slowing and merging traffic as they near the 33 mile marker. KYTC says the restriction will be in place from about 8 a.m. to about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The lane configuration may change multiple times during the investigation.
