Man injured in one-car wreck

A man was taken to a local hospital after a one-car wreck in McCracken County on Monday, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputies say 23-year-old Josuah Gomez of Paducah was driving on Lovelaceville Road near Terre Verte Drive when the wreck happened around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

The sheriff’s department says Gomez told deputies he looked down for a second to check that his cruise control was set when his front passenger side tire left the road, he over-corrected, and the car flipped. The car came to rest right side up in a ditch, a the air bags deployed in the crash.

Gomez was taken by ambulance to Lourdes hospital in Paducah, and deputies say his injuries were not incapacitating.
