Murray store parking lot entrance to be closed for two weeks

An entrance to a store in Murray, Kentucky will be closed for the next two weeks for construction.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says as part of the KY 121 reconstruction project, the entrance to JC Penney on US 641/North 16th Street across from the KY 121 intersection will be closed.

The closure is needed to widen the parking lot entrance so that it can accommodate the additional lanes being added to KY 121.

The entrance is expected to be closed for about two weeks. During the closure, drivers can get to the JC Penney parking lot using the shopping center entrances near Kroger and Captain D’s.

Along with the entrance closure, crews will also be working on paving a portion of KY 121. The paving will be between the US 641 intersection and the KY 774/Coldwater Road intersection.

Paving is expected to take about two weeks to complete. Drivers should be on the lookout for one lane traffic controlled by flaggers.
