One injured after car hit deer

A teenager was injured when the car he was riding in hit a deer.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened in the 2800 block of Cairo Road around 7:00 a.m.

Deputies say 53-year-old Sharon Maples of Paducah was driving east on Cairo Road when a deer walked into the road.

Maples could not avoid the deer and hit it.

A passenger in the car, 16-year-old William Ruggles of Paducah, was taken to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
