Paducah Man arrested, charged after standoff with law enforcement

McCracken County sheriff’s deputies and members of the Sheriff’s Department Special Services Team arrested Gregory Thomas overnight Tuesday. McCracken County Sergeant David Shepherd said it all started around 8:00 Tuesday night when a woman called from a home on Smith Avenue, asking for help. Deputies considered it a Domestic Violence Assault at the time the call came in.

When deputies arrived, Sgt Shepherd said the woman who made the call ran out of the home to safety. Thomas started to run out of the home but quickly ran backin and refused to come out. Sgt. Shepherd said emergency responders did use flash bangs during the standoff. Members of the Special Services Team entered the home and arrested Thomas early Wednesday morning.

Mr. Thomas had been arrested at this same location and was out on bond for similar charges from an incident that occurred on September 08, 2016.

We have a list of Thomas’ charges, as sent to us from McCracken County Sergeant David Shepherd:

  1. Assault 4th Degree Minor Injury – A Misdemeanor
