Police investigating death of Cape Girardeau man

Cape Girardeau, Missouri, police have released the named of a man who was found shot to death early Wednesday morning.

Police say 30-year-old Brent Shota Johnson of Cape Girardeau was found dead in the 1200 block of South Ellis Street. 

The Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the report of shots fired at that location at 1:54 a.m. Wednesday, and found his body upon arrival there. 

The Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad has been activated to investigate the shooting death.
