1 hurt in 2-car wreck on wet road

A two-car crash in Lone Oak sent a man to a local hospital Friday night.

The wreck happened in a curve on South Friendship Road between Timothy Drive and Gilhaven Drive.

Deputies say 70-year-old Robert Bruyns of Paducah was driving a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound on South Friendship Road and 22-year-old Lawrence Johnson of Paducah was driving a 1995 Honda Accord westbound. The two cars collided in the curve.

The crash sent both vehicles off the roadway. Deputies note that the roadway was wet and it was raining when the wreck happened.

Bruyns was taken to a local hospital for injuries deputies say were not incapacitating. They say Johnson and his passenger, Jayasiona Jones of Carbondale, were not hurt in the wreck.
