5th suspect charged in death of 15-year-old Sidnee Stephens

Chad Bennett is back in police custody for the death of 15-year-old Sidnee Stephens. 

Sidnee was killed in 2010. She was choked and shot before her body was thrown underneath a bridge in Pinckneyville, Illinois.

On Friday, the Perry County State’s Attorney filed four counts of 1st degree murder and one count of concealment of a homicidal death against Bennett.

This is the second time Bennett is facing murder charges in this case. Those charges were dropped in 2013.

Four other people have been convicted in Sidnee’s death. They are Robbie Mueller, James Glazier, Carl Dane, and Dakota Wall. Wall is Sidnee’s half sister.
